It is extremely rewarding for him to know that he is improving the lives of both animals and people, every day!
Dr. Johnson and his wife, Shannon (also a veterinarian), have two children, Teagan and Declan. Teagan is twelve years old, in 6th grade and loves cheer, tumbling and hanging out with her friends. She wants to become a teacher and go to Oklahoma State University. Declan is ten years old and in 4th grade; he is extremely fast and loves scoring for his flag football team and playing tennis. They are also proud parents of Jagger, an orange tabby cat; Kitty Crumb O'Donnell, a black and white domestic short hair cat; Bronwyn Fynn McCool, a Lab/Terrier mix dog; and Scout, an American Paint horse. Outside of work Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with his family, riding bikes, golfing, hiking, and watching football. Rachel Vazquez, DVM
Dr. Rachel Vazquez attended Oklahoma Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish. She received her doctorate from Oklahoma State University in 2013. Dr. Vazquez became a veterinarian because of the importance and impact of the human-animal bond. She also loves the combination of science and medicine. One reason Dr. Vazquez chose this career is because animals have given her so much joy in life. She sees veterinary medicine reflect God as our Creator, which continues to increase her faith.
In her role with Edmond East Animal Hospital, Dr. Vazquez’s favorite aspect of her job is seeing her patients get better and making their owners happy in the process. She is especially skilled in ultrasound, dentistry, clinical pathology and cytology. Her priority is being a caring and compassionate advocate for both her patients and clients.
At home, Dr. Vazquez and her husband, Gregorio, have two children, Adler and Evanna. They all love their two mini-lop rabbits named Pebbles and Bam Bam.
